H5N1 Airborn?

I'm a big follower of the NewScientist website because of the huge scope of information and articles they provide. Recently, it was announced that two laboratories had successfully modified the H5N1 virus (Bird Flu) to become transmittable through the air. There has been call from the people high up the chain to bring such research to a halt because of the seriousness of such research. This virus is quite possibly capable of wiping out 50% of the world's population. It's a scary thought to think, that the only thing keeping this virus from ever making it's way into the environment, is a concrete room in a storage container somewhere in the US.

I've always believed in the old adage, that if it can happen, it will happen. All it takes, is for someone with complacency to make a small mistake, and Pandora's Box is open.
